libsnmp-base software package provides SNMP configuration script, MIBs and documentation, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libsnmp-base
libsnmp-base is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libsnmp-base package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libsnmp-base *
You will get with libsnmp-base package name, version, architecture and description in a table
